Boote, Mary Ann

Posted on August 13, 2015 by Maple Creek

BOOTE – It is with deep personal sorrow and relief for the end of her suffering, that I inform you of the death of Reverend Mary Ann Boote on August 7. She bore her “bulbar onset” ALS (Lou Gherig’s disease) with patience and a strength that came from God. Never did she waver from the fact that she would be joyfully going home early.
Her request to be resting in the dirt in a quiet cemetery west of Prince Albert within 24 hours was successfully honoured to the minute. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
There will be a Requiem Memorial service at St Mary’s on August 26 at 1:00pm.
Peter and family want to thank;
Linda Lowe for the intensive care given to Mary Ann who was not a usual patient due to her many allergies.
Marie Deshaies who ably assisted and stood in for Linda when she was away.
The staff at the hospital and at Cypress Health Region at all levels as they provided care with kindness for such an unusual disease.
Jason and the staff at Pharmasave for their professional advice and concern.
All the members of St Mary’s, who have been graciously allowing me to take the time I needed to care for Mary Ann and myself, keeping us both in prayer and providing help as needed.
To all the other churches and people in Maple Creek and surrounding areas/communities who have held us in prayer for strength and healing. Know that we felt your support and it helped immensely.
Finally, to the wonderful people at the ALS clinic in Calgary, the ALS society of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You lightened a heavy load.
