Work, Joseph Leonard (Sonny)

WORK – Joseph Leonard (Sonny) Work – passed away at Maple Creek at the age of 89 on August 19, 2017.
He leaves his wife and true partner in life June, beloved daughters Crystle Winquist (Jim) and Theresa Wilson (Al), grandchildren Bart, Curtis (Jolene) and Tyler (Chelsey) and great grandchildren Wylder, Bailey and Dena.
He was predeceased by his Mother and Father Edith and Peter Work, sister Barbara Work and grandson Travis Winquist.
Leonard was born July 4, 1928 in Piapot, Sask. to Peter and Edith Work. He lived on Skull Creek and attended Carnagh School. In 1953 he married June Mackie and they continued to live on the Work homestead until 2011, when they moved into Maple Creek. Over the years Leonard worked at the Tompkins PFRA and the Tompkins Stock Yards. Leonard loved to ranch, working with animals, spending time with his family close friends and neighbors.
A funeral service was held on August 15, 2017 at the Maple Creek Elks Hall with Eleanor Bowie officiating.
