GILCHRIST – Jean Gilchrist ~ December 4, 1927 ~ September 11, 2017
Jean Noreen Gilchrist (nee Leslie) passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice at the age of 89 years.
Jean will be forever remembered by her daughter, Judy Wallace and son, Ted (Marjorie) Gilchrist; grandchildren, Trevor (Nicole) and Shawn (Amy) Nicholson, Jamie (James) Bengert, Loris Gilchrist (Craig Charlton), Ryan (Stacey) Gilchrist, David (Donna) and Dean (Karin) Wallace and Rick Wagenaar; great-grandchildren, Talia Rose and Charlie Nicholson, Meara Jean and Finley Nicholson, Wyatt Bengert, Ashlyn Gilchrist, Carter, Hudson and Lennon Gilchrist, Raymond, Marty, Gerad and Kyle Wagenaar, Russell Wallace, Michelle, Jordan and Brett Wallace. Also left to cherish her memory are her extended family, Dona Leslie, Winnie Leslie-Hanson, Isabel Gordon, Joyce Nuttal, Darlene Halladay, Keith Scott, Beverley O’Riordan, Bob Gilchrist as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Jack (1983); daughter, Linda Nicholson (1994); son, Jim Gilchrist (1999); son-in-law, Glen Wallace (2006); granddaughter, Karen Wagenaar (2017); sisters, Jessie Foster, Helen Reesor and Midge Halladay; brothers, Bob, Jim and Dave Leslie; brothers-in-law, Ross Foster, Keith Reesor, Hugh Halladay, Bud Hanson, Barry Gilchrist, Jim O’Riordan; sisters-in-law, Bernice Leslie, Mary Ellen Gilchrist and Dorothy Gilchrist.
The family would like to thank Dr. Best and Dr. Hirsch as well as Helen and staff at Haven Care Centre and St. Joseph’s Home for their love and care they provided to Jean while in their care.

Weep not for me, but courage take. Now love one another for my sake.”
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Whiskey Creek, 937 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. (Please use south entrance). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean’s name may be made directly to the Margery E.
