Show your love to writers, editors, and square dancers

It has come to the News-Times’ attention, September is supposedly “Be Kind to Writers and Editors Month.”
According to Inter-web legend, the tribute was established in 1984 by a Texas-based publishing place.
Reports state, the month “honours those hardworking individuals that make the world a more interesting place, both through their narratives and their naturally odd demeanours.”
So, when you bump into a writer or editor in September make sure you say “Hey” and/or “Thanks, you rock!”
Marcus Day, News-Times reporter/photographer extraordinaire said maybe he should wear a sticker or pin on his jacket telling everyone about the month. The next time you talk to or see Marcus, give him an air high-five (it’s COVID-19 approved) or let him know how much you love his witty charm and eloquent use of the written word.
It’s also International Square Dancing Month in September (like it or not), so swing your partner ‘round and ‘round.
Also according to the Inter-web, square dancing was “brought over from New England with the first settlers in the form of folk dances, which included the quadrille, jigs, reels, and the minuet.”
So, grab your significant other or just fly solo and do-si-do. Be kind to square dancers, as well — it’s the right thing to do.
