Celebrating Canada! – James and Jackie Peterson relax in the giant Adirondack chairs James built on their property at 201 Cypress Street. He got the idea during a trip to New Brunswick two years ago, where they saw similar chairs near Bathurst bearing a flag. Inspired, James set to work in his backyard building his own version. Since setting the chairs on their property facing First Avenue, the patriotic couple have noticed many people stopping to have a look – even posing in them for photos. Jackie noted one woman visiting from Chile made sure to get a photo perched in them before she left. See page 2 for Canada Day events in Maple Creek. Photo by Marcia Love
