Maple Creek pharmacy receives top spot as Innovation Store of the Year

It may have taken being runner-up five times, but now Maple Creek Pharmasave can take the No. 1 spot as Innovation Store of the Year. It took a combination of dedication and excellent customer care to beat 64 other stores in the central region to the award.
The Pharmacy Innovation award is presented to pharmacies that demonstrate excellence in the provision of innovated patient services that go above and beyond just filling prescriptions. Things such as providing comprehensive medication reviews and injection services. Where Maple Creek Pharmasave went above and beyond was in providing extra services to people who live in the nursing homes, the new assisted living facility, as well as the healing lodge.
Pharmasave store manager Jason Williams says the award was the collective work of dedicated pharmacy staff who made sure to provide care that exceeded the status quo.
“It’s easy to come into work and just fill prescriptions all day,” he said. “We choose to do more; the whole team together works to make sure that not only are we providing these innovate services, but we are also able to provide them in a fast and efficient manner.”
Williams added that the turnaround time in providing quick assistance in places such as the nursing home is another area in which the pharmacy is excelling. In cases where it would take other pharmacies two or three days to provide assistance, Maple Creek Pharmasave can provide in just a couple hours.
