Chinook School Division
Welcome back to our SWAC Sport fans. The fall season sports are up and running and competitions will begin in the days to come.
SWAC (South West Athletic Conference) is a part of the SHSAA (Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association). Teams composed of Grade 10-12 students compete in local leagues/tournaments, and then will compete in SHSAA playoffs. In some instances, Grade 9 students will compete in SHSAA events (cross country, golf, track and field).
SWAC is lucky that our boundaries are exactly the same as the ChinookSD. It is much easier to be consistent with guidelines/expectations when all schools are from the same division,
Junior teams (Grade 9 and under) compete in local leagues and complete their season taking part in SWAC district playoffs and championships.
Upcoming events:
On Saturday, Sept. 3 SCCHS Colts will host Moose Jaw Central at 1:00. The Colts will travel to Moose Jaw on Saturday, Sept. 10 to take on Moose Jaw Vanier.  Game time is 3:15.
In 9-man football, Maple Creek and Shaunavon are traveling to Regina Mosaic Stadium for exhibition scrimmages on Saturday, Sept. 10. Foam Lake and Broadview will also be attending. This is a unique opportunity for Maple Creek and Shaunavon to scrimmage in an actual stadium against teams they will not see in their league. What an awesome experience has been arranged for these young athletes!!
The Colt/Arden soccer teams play in the Moose Jaw High School soccer league. On Saturday, Sept. 10 the SC Ardens travel to Yorkton for a double header. They will play Yorkton Sacred Heart at 11:00 and Yorkton Regional at 3:00. The SC Colts play their first league game on Tuesday, Sept. 13. They will host Moose Jaw Central at 4:30.
SWAC senior volleyball leagues should start the week of Sept. 13. The nights and numbers of matches will be determined by entries. Details will be forthcoming.  There is no official SWAC volleyball league for junior teams, but some sections create their own exhibition leagues.
The SWAC district golf championship will be hosted by Maple Creek on Sept. 14. Top qualifiers will go on to the SHSAA provincial championship in Melfort on Sept. 16/17.
