Lemire, Denis Marcel Joseph

Posted on October 21, 2014 by Maple Creek

LEMIRE – Denis Marcel Joseph Lemire was born on November 20, 1961 in Val Marie, Saskatchewan. In 1990 he married his best friend and love of his life Bernice. They farmed and ran several successful businesses together for 24 years on the Bench in the Stone district and in eastern Sask. On October 12, 2014 Denis lost his battle with ALS. He died at home surrounded by love.

Denis worked hard his whole life and earned every bit of his success, but even more to his credit, he always had time to love, support and help his whole family, and A LOT of other people who were greatly in need.

Over his work life, Denis farmed, worked construction, worked as a mechanic, mined and worked his way up in the oil patch where he was a rig manager for several years. Anyone who has been privileged to cross life paths with Denis is better for the experience. Denis always had a positive and trusting outlook on life in general and had a brilliant and intuitive mind. He also knew how to occasionally cut loose and enjoyed many “escapades” with good friends. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a wonderful mentor and life-coach, right to the end. Denis will always be remembered with great admiration and respect.

Denis is predeceased by his father, Robert Louis Joseph Lemire Sr, his grandparents Clement and Olive Arnal and Arthur and Arlene Lemire; his sister Cathy Hyam; his nephew Tyler Wheeler; his brother-in-law Arthur Bauer; his godfather Marcel Lemire; and his good friend Billy Matthews.
