GUCKERT – Peter Valentine Guckert passed away surrounded by family on June 17, 2017.
He leaves soul mate Alma, sons Brent (Lisa) and Sheldon (Belinda), grandchildren Brayden, Teyara, Kobe, Koen, Jordyn (Trent), Trey (Jocelyn), Zackary and great-grandson Bohdin. Peter loved his family more than anything.
Peter was born on January 26, 1939 to Martha (Speicher) and John. John passed away when Peter was a baby. His mother married Adam Steinbach, they raised a large family on the family farm near Lemsford, Sask. Peter grew up learning to be strong and resourceful. He tested the waters in the big city of Calgary before returning to Leader, Sask. He was proud to call Leader home ever since.
Peter was active, in everything: fishing, woodworking, poker, hunting, golfing, camping, snowmobiling, hockey, curling, basically everything in life. He made every moment fun, there was never a dull moment when he was around. He brought out the best in all that knew him.
Koncrete Construction was his passion. He started the company in 1964 with not much more than a wheelbarrow and through hard work and the ability to turn any bad situation into a good one, he made a legacy.
The golden years were truly golden for Peter. The ranch will forever hold memories of fish fries and campfires. He loved cooking for friends and family. Winters held fun, great friends and happy hours in Yuma, Arizona.
A come-and-go reception to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Thurs. June 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Little Flower Parish Hall 304 Main St. W., Leader, Sask.
No words can express how much Peter will be missed.
