After a lengthy illness, Doreen passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Grace Casey of Saskatoon, her husband Bert of Swift Current, sister Marlene, and brothers Gordon, Bud, and Ken.

She is survived by her three children, Rob of Toronto, Janet (Tim) Keene of Swift Current, and Gerry (Bev) of Calgary, and her eight precious grandchildren: Erin (Steve) Robinson, James Orr, Andrew (Whitney), Kacey (fiancé Matthew) and Jeffrey Keene, Ryan and Christopher Orr, Christian Grant-Orr; and great grandchildren Jayden and Rowan Robinson.

Doreen was born on October 6, 1925 in Allan, Saskatchewan. She completed her high school education at Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon, graduating at the age of 16. She attended business college in Saskatoon and worked for many years for the Federated Co-op before marrying her beloved Bert in 1949. Doreen was a wonderful wife and mother, and a cherished grandmother – the role she loved the most. Her special place was the cottage at Cypress Hills where she spent 56 glorious summers with her family and many friends.

Doreen was a kind and dignified lady who will be well remembered by her many friends and deeply missed by her family.
