The Mural’s Up!

Trent Drever uses his front-end loader to lift the Heritage District gateway mural while Connie Phillips and Marcelo del Barrio (hidden) hold it steady as the painting is hung on the side of The Salvation Army Thrift Store on May 14.

The mural, which Geoff Phillips was commissioned to paint through the Maple Creek Main Street Program and Community Initiatives Fund, was completed last year, but the Phillips had difficulty finding the best and most cost-effective method of mounting the 800-pound work of art.
