RM of Maple Creek firefighters Trent Empey and Chez Lyman spray water into a pickup truck that caught fire at Clifford and Lillian Munsch’s farm about 12 kilometres northwest of Piapot yesterday morning. The fire broke out in the rear of the truck at 9 a.m. while Clifford was driving through a field. The Piapot Fire Department and neighbouring farmers also responded. The fire was contained to a few metres around the vehicle and was put out within the hour. It is suspected the blaze was caused by dry grass caught around the exhaust system.
