Saskatoon RCMP lay charges against series of B&Es across central Saskatchewan

Between Feb. 4 and Apr. 26, 2020, Saskatchewan RCMP received multiple reports of break-and-enters, thefts and property-related offences across central Saskatchewan. A joint investigation involving several RCMP detachments was launched by the Saskatoon RCMP Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS) to identify the person(s) responsible for these crimes.

Evidence gathered throughout the investigation, which included surveillance videos, revealed an unknown male and a white Ford F150 truck was present at various crime scenes. With the assistance of several RCMP detachments and Saskatoon Police Service, more information about the truck was received. Officers were able to identify the owner of the vehicle and the male in the surveillance videos as 37-year-old Cody Kemick.

On May 2, 2020, Saskatoon Provincial GIS along with officers from Saskatoon, Outlook, Rosetown and Humboldt detachments executed a search warrant at Kemick’s residence in Saskatoon. Kemick and another occupant of the residence were arrested without incident.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately $35,000 worth of stolen property which included items such as tools, computers, electronic devices, ammunition, cheques, hair salon products, lottery tickets and clothing. These items are believed to be from break-and-enters into several businesses, residences and vehicles in Lucky Lake, Dinsmore, Rosetown, Kerrobert, Aberdeen, Humboldt, Milden, Conquest and Saskatoon.

Cody Kemick (DOB: 1983-03-13), of Saskatoon, has been charged with three counts of Break and Enter, 10 counts of Possession of Stolen Property, one count of Theft and one count of Mischief.

Chantal Dubois (DOB: 1979-12-29), of Saskatoon, has been charged with one count of Break and Enter and seven counts of Possession of Stolen Property.

Kemick and Dubois have been remanded for court in Saskatoon on May 6, 2020.
