Three candidates enter election race for Cypress-Grasslands

Posted on August 17, 2021 by Maple Creek

Justin Trudeau officially dropped the writ on Sunday and Canadians will now head to the federal election polls on Sept. 20.
Three candidates have so far thrown their hats in the ring to run in the Cypress Hills-Grasslands riding. They are:
Jeremy Patzer (Swift Current): Conservative Party
Mark Skagen (Tompkins): Maverick Party
Alex McPhee (Val Marie): New Democratic Party
The 36-day campaign is the shortest allowable under Canadian election laws.
The Cypress-Grasslands riding covers the southwest corner of Saskatchewan, from the Alberta border and east to Ol Wives Lake and Mortlach areas. From south to north, the riding runs from the US border to the Kindersley area.
