The members of Fox Valley Playschool, their parents, and grandparents were winners on December 2nd when the class gave their annual Christmas concert.
The children did their playschool opening “Is everybody ready to have a good time today?”, sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas “, recited two poems: “Hungry Little Bunny” and “Snowball” by Shel Silverstein, and sang “Little Snowflake “. When they sang “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, the jolly old elf made an appearance laden down with goodies for all the good little boys and girl and their siblings.
After they took turns telling him their Christmas wishes, Elizabeth Koch made the annual Christmas draw. Katie Glass won the gift card, and the grand prize of a box full of toys went to Shaelyn Bakanec.
The young curlers of Fox Valley School were winners when they had the chance to learn more about curling from one of the best Saskatchewan coaches,  Brian Champion of Rosetown. There were 3 clinics at Fox Valley Curling Rink: Grades 4/5 and Grades 6/7 took part during their Phys. Ed. classes, and the seniors went after school. DondaLee and James Deis arranged and helped coach the clinics.
Several draws were held last week. The C.W.L. 50/50 draw for $1110 was won by Jeanette Garrecht. The Fox Valley Rec. Board Booze Basket draw winner was Kyle Christie. Neal and Jackie Dirk won the Trip of the Month , a wine tour in Kelowna B.C. Chloe Aman won $120.
The regular Chase the Ace night was preceded by a meal. Joan Bosch’s Dill Pickle and chicken noodle soups, Charissa Bosch’s hamburger soup, and Tena Schneider’s potato soup were enjoyed by couple of dozen people who came out for the draw. The pies baked by Charlotte Anton, Candice Koch, and Joan were cut into generous pieces and served up by volleyball players  Mikayla Herter, Olivia Hudec, and Haley Wagner. A record 348 tickets were sold for this draw.
Tena pulled Keri Hudec’s name for the $348 win. As Keri was not present, proxy Char Anton cut the card from the 32 remaining in the deck – the 9 of clubs. The jackpot of $6,841.50 will most likely be over $7,000 for the next draw on December 23rd. There will be no meal at that draw.
