The position of economic development officer, held by Gillian LaBoucane, has been discontinued as the Town of Maple Creek continues to undergo restructuring.
A new full-time position of “director of community services” has now been created.
The changes were disclosed by Barry Elliott, the Town’s chief administrative officer, in a report to the January 28 meeting of Maple Creek Town Council.
He acknowledged LaBoucane’s work as economic development officer.
“I wish to thank Gillian LaBoucane for her years of service to the community in this role and to wish her the very best in all of her future endeavours.”
On Friday, January 30, the Town released a job posting for director of community services.
The requirements include a minimum of five years of management experience, preferably in a municipal or public sector environment. The pay range is $69,186 – $97,069 based on knowledge and experience.
The closing date is February 27.
