Thank you, Council ‘superstars’

Signs of gratitude: Players’ names were on the letter.

To “our littlest hockey heroes”, Maple Creek Town Council is made up of community superstars.

In an enthusiastically worded letter, Maple Creek U7 Hawks have thanked Council for sponsorships and donations that turned a hockey tournament into a weekend filled with great memories.

The letter, which contained players’ names and came with a team photograph, was on the agenda at the March 10 Town Council meeting. It read:

Dear Community Superstars,

Our U7 hockey crew wants to send you the biggest, loudest, and most enthusiastic THANK YOU we can muster (and trust us, these kids are very enthusiastic).

Your sponsorships and donations helped turn our tournament into a weekend full of mini-stick bottles, wobbly skating triumphs, and enough smiles to melt an entire arena’s worth of ice. Because of you, our young athletes got to feel like champions – even when they were skating the wrong direction or celebrating goals that … may or may not have been theirs.

Small towns run on big hearts, and yours showed up in a huge way. Your support didn’t just help us host a tournament, it helped create memories these kids will be bragging about long after they’ve outgrown their tiny skates.

Thank you for cheering on our littlest hockey heroes and for being the kind of community that makes all of this possible. We’re grateful, we’re proud, and we can’t wait to team up again.

With appreciation (and maybe a few missing teeth).
