Magee, Michael (Mike)

MAGEE – Michael (Mike) Magee ~ March 31, 1955 – March 15, 2014

Mike passed away peacefully at the age of 58 in Regina, Sask.

Mike was born in Gull Lake, Sask., the second oldest of four children and raised on a farm near Carmichael. He attended a one-room school in Carmichael until Grade 3 when he transfered to Gull Lake School, where he graduated in 1973.

He met Wendy, the mother of his children, at a 4-H week-long program in July 1973. Mike and Wendy got married April 1974 and divorced in 1987.

Mike was a long-time collector of Remington Rolling Blocks, and an expert gunsmith. He attended many gun shows and displayed his collection with immense pride across Western Canada. He was heavily involved in many shooting competitions and a founding member of the Garden Head Gun Club.

Mike was predeceased by his parents Tom and Beatrice Magee.

He is survived by his three siblings – Kathy Todd (Les), John Magee (Ruth), Dan Magee (Stephanie); his three children Maureen McFadzean, Heather Hubbard (Edmound), Joe Magee (Cheryl); four grandchildren Braedyn, Samual, Matthew, Jaxon and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be sorely missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.

A gathering of friends and family was held at the Carmichael School Hall from 1-4 p.m.  on Sat., Mar. 22.
