Bartlett – John Earl Bartlett of Maple Creek passed away October 19, 2014 at his residence in Swift Current. John is survived by his daughter Sarah Bartlett; grandchildren Hunter Bartlett, Tanner Bartlett and Gorja-Rayne Bartlett; brothers Ernie (Judy) Bartlett, Lloyd (Delneise) Bartlett and sister Sharron Troy. He was predeceased by his parents Helen and John Bartlett; sisters Hazel Bryan, Violet Elms and Jean Bartlett and brother George Bartlett.

John was born in Matheson, Ont. on January 15, 1948. He graduated from Loelle Park School in 1966. John worked as a millwright from 1975 to 1993 thru out Ontario. While employed as a millwright for Inco Nickel Refinery, he was able to travel overseas to supervise the setup of Icon’s mines in Indonesia. In 1993, John purchased the Prairie Pride Motel in Maple Creek which he owned and operated until 2003. John enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He always enjoyed having a good time visiting with friends. In his younger years John rode and broke horses. John always had a great sense of humor. Towards his later years, John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. “Life’s sermons are lived, not preached” was a favorite saying of his. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
