Kay grew up in the Maple Creek area. She passed away from a short battle with cancer in Denver, Colorado. She attended nursing school in Edmonton where she met and married Harry Long, an American soldier. They moved to Denver where two children were raised. Kay practiced nursing for many years. She lived a long and fulfilled life.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Maple Creek Hospital.
