CRANDALL – Marion Louise Crandall (nee Beasley) passed away January 16, 2016 at the age of 94 years.
Marion was born September 28, 1921 to parents Anthony & Beatrice Beasley. On August 12, 1940 Marion and Clarence married and together they had four children Ken, Jerrold, David, and James.
Marion was a long-time resident of the Piapot area and was a community supporter. She was a member of the Piapot Hospital Auxiliary, the Pioneer Club and loved to curl. In her youth she was a participant in sports. She loved the outdoors and camping.
Marion valued her independence. One of the things she was most proud of was her job as the telephone operator on the Piapot Exchange. She enjoyed the independence offered by the jobs she held outside the home and by driving her own car. When she moved from Piapot to the Manor in Maple Creek, she enjoyed driving her friends to the various social activities. She later moved from Maple Creek to Tabor and then to Lethbridge.
Her family was very important to her and she showed great personal strength in the face of many of life’s difficulties. She loved unconditionally.
Marion was predeceased by her parents Tony and Beatrice, all of her siblings, her husband Clarence, her son Ken and two infant grandsons.
Marion is survived by three of her sons and her four sons’ families including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Anglican Church in Piapot, Sask., with Eleanor Bowie officiating. Interment took place at the Piapot Cemetery.
