Herman, Grace Claire (nee Batza)

HERMAN – Grace Claire Patricia Herman (nee Batza) ~ December 14, 1938 – July 21, 2016
Grace was born and raised in Grayson, Sask.. After finishing Columbia School in Grayson, Grace spent a year at Notre Dame in Wilcox, Sask.. Grace moved to Regina and married her lifelong husband Donald Herman on May 14, 1960. Over the following decade Don and Grace raised their four children before moving the family to Maple Creek, Sask. in 1972. Grace was a loving, social woman with many friends and maintained close relationships with all of her and Don’s family. She moved her elderly parents to Maple Creek and cared for them at the end of their lives. Grace loved puzzles, games, playing cards, crafting, painting, crocheting and knitting. She especially loved doing all of those things with her grandchildren.
Grace was predeceased by her father Joseph Batza and her mother Marie Blanche (nee Fafard) and sister Genevieve in 1951; her brother Reg Batza (Linda).
Grace is survived by her husband Don, son Robert (Karen) and granddaughter Lauren; son Ron and grandson Heinz; son Ken (Joanne) and grandchildren Mathias, Angie, Damian and great grandchildren Zarabella, Tarryn, Arianna and Ronan; daughter Kari; sister Connie (Robert) Doll; as well as many nieces, nephews and inlaws.
Grace’s funeral service was held July 28, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Maple Creek, Sask. with Father Clement Nwankwo officiating. Interment took place at the Maple Creek Cemetery.
