Second degree murder charges for Maple Creek man

A Maple Creek man will be appearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court this morning (Friday, January 25) facing charges stemming from a 2 vehicle collision on Highway #21 approximately 2 kms north of Maple Creek on the evening of Sunday, October 9 that killed a 50 year-old woman.
Highway #21 was blocked for several hours to allow for an investigation and to clean up the collision scene.
As a result of this investigation, 56 year-old Ronald Plummer of Maple Creek has been charged with second degree murder (Sec. 235(1), Criminal Code) in the death of 50 year-old Lesa Zoerb, also of Maple Creek.
While members were investigating the motor vehicle collision, they became aware of an assault that had occurred earlier the same day. Subsequently, Plummer is also charged with aggravated assault (Sec. 268, Criminal Code).
As these matters are before the courts, we will be unable to provide any further information.
